Congratulations, Lauren!
Lauren Capel has won Silicon Chip magazine’s Inaugural Excellence in Education Technology Award for her restoration of the Mullard set (shown with Capel, above). The Award, for which she competed against other entrants from Australia as well as overseas, was for the best final-year assignment of an individual secondary school student involving electronics technology. Her prize, consisting of $l,000.00 and a commemorative plaque, was presented by the publisher and Editor-in Chief of Silicon Chip, Mr Leo Simpson.
Her school, the Mater Maria Catholic College of Warriewood, Sydney, NSW also won the Award for sponsoring her. Mr Simpson and Silicon Chip are to be commended for establishing this valuable means of encouraging young people’s interest in practical electronics.
