AUCTION EXCITEMENT!
For our Spring 2013 Swap, we have some exciting changes to our usual Auction format. First off, we have a local collector who is liquidating his collection. Any of his items not sold in the normal course of our meet will be offered in a Premium Auction. Here is a link to the page with descriptions and photographs. As you can see, there are some pristine examples of over 20 radios from the 20’s and early 30’s, as well as 9 vintage speakers, 3 microphones, and many miscellaneous items. Cash only please! Items will be available beginning Friday night at 6 p.m. immediately after room is set-up. The seller has asked that all inquiries regarding this collection be made through Larry Chambers at 615-355-2005.
Additionally, Ron Ramirez has donated a really nice 1947 Magnavox Regency Symphony console to the club, to be auctioned as a fundraiser. He has meticulously restored the set electronically, and it includes a phonograph as well as an added FM converter of the period. This would make someone an excellent “daily driver!”
Also, our usual “walking auction” will be altered to run concurrently with the premium auction (there will be a rotation of all sellers’ items). We ask that sellers who have items for auction bring their items to the main auction area that will be set up at 10 a.m. We will alternate auctioning everyone’s items so that we have a timely flow and a good variety of items for everybody’s interest. This should result in a win/win for both sellers and buyers!
If you intend to submit items for our auction, we will ask that you be able to provide a few details on your items: description, condition (working or “as is”), reserve bid (if any), and any other pertinent information. We will have blank forms on-hand for you to attach the information about your auction items.
The Formalities: Auction transactions are solely the responsibility of the buyer and seller, cash only, and the club charges no fees whatsoever. All items will be represented as described by their seller and the club assumes no liability for accuracy of descriptions. Sellers reserve the right to place reserve bids on their items. Auction details subject to change if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances. Our main objective is to provide a positive experience for all our swap meet attendees, buyers and sellers.
